BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Faculty of Letters, being one of the constituent structures of the Moldova State University, has become an active and prestigious representative of higher education in the field of philological sciences. Owing to its mission to train performance specialists in the field of philology, the Faculty of Letters ensures the continuity and development of national cultural traditions, their inclusion in the network of European values, as well as their knowledge and promotion in the cultural space of our country. The Faculty of Letters constantly strives to achieve excellence in research while also creating a favorable environment for quality teaching and learning, preserving the traditions and introducing innovations. The Faculty provides its students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful professional achievement both in education and in other adjacent fields: translation, writing, mass media, public relations, with its graduates finding employment with ease. The mission of the Faculty of Letters is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of philology, translation and education sciences, both in their native languages (Romanian and Russian) and in modern foreign languages such as English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. There are three university cycles where the training of specialists takes place: bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate. The students of the Faculty of Letters have the opportunity to complete pedagogical or specialized internships in various high schools, public and private institutions, with which the faculty has signed collaboration agreements. Moreover, the students of the faculty have the opportunity to consult specialized literature from the Austrian Library, the British Culture Centre, the Center for American Studies, the University Success Center and the “Russian Philology” Center.
In the Polish and Turkish Language Centers there are courses for those wishing to learn a new language. With a variety of academic programs offered, both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees, the Faculty of Letters offers students an educational path that is not only a launching pad for a successful career, but also a means of shaping their personality as future specialists in philology by virtue of unforgettable experiences, interpersonal relationships based on respect and appreciation, cooperation with colleagues from abroad and academic mobility, a stimulating learning environment conducive to creativity.
